After more than two years, we finally made it back to Munich, Germany, and enjoyed family, friends, and German food there as well as soccer camp, (pool) time with the cousins, excursions to a chocolate factory, and climbing high up among the trees in in the Kletterpark Vaterstetten.

2021 Summer Swim Season Ends

The 2021 summer swim season has just ended, and the kids were so happy to be back swimming for the South Riding Stingrays after a year hiatus because of the pandemic. Both Sophia & Max made it to Divisionals, and Max made MVP for the 9/10-year old boys and was honored as a Colonial Swimming League All Star for 50m freestyle, 50m breaststroke, and 100m individual medley!

Volunteering for Medical Reserve Corps

Spent the day volunteering for Loudoun County’s Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) efforts to distribute COVID-19 vaccines, and I would encourage anyone to consider volunteering for their local MRC. It’s a great experience, helps the effort of combating the pandemic in your community, and if you volunteer for a vaccine distribution site, it has the added benefit of volunteers getting the vaccine as well!

Capital Fall Classic Champions

Congratulations to Max and his team for winning their age bracket in the Capital Fall Classic soccer tournament in Richmond. Although I had to watch it on video due to COVID-19-related attendance restrictions–so proud of him finishing the season with this great win!

Bayern Munich Wins Champions League

Congratulations to my hometown team Bayern Munich for winning last night’s Champions League final! Max had his own soccer game at kickoff time, but we watched a replay later and were thrilled to see them win their sixth title!

Just came back from the Outer Banks with our little family pod enjoying jet skiing in the Currituck Sound, hiking the sand dunes of Jockey’s Ridge State Park, watching Dolphins passing by at sunrise and boogie boarding in Corolla, and visiting the wild horses on the Northern Shores.

JOM Editorial Term Ending

Today, my term as Associate Editor at Journal of Management has ended. I am incredibly grateful to Editor David Allen & Senior Associate Editor Taco Reus for offering me this amazing opportunity, and I learned a lot from handling more than 100 unique manuscripts (many for multiple revisions) and close to 100 review issue proposals during my three years at JOM. And I won’t be leaving JOM as I have been invited to join the incoming JOM editorial board and will also remain the AE for any manuscripts assigned to me during my term which are still in the review process.
